The divergent views of our highly constructed human reality, versus the vast wilderness in which we are completely absent. Yet, we are still able to find symmetry.

This combined body of work features grandly constructed urban environments juxtaposed with nature’s boundless pristine vistas which appear to completely dominate their respective inhabitants. With the incorporation of animal and human portraits, a strong synchronicity between the two worlds becomes apparent through the display of emotion, personality traits and relationships.

The merging of contemporary digital and historical photographic processes serve to bring together these eclectic works, creating a unique perspective in paper and metal.

About the artists:

Emma Rowan-Kelly has explored extensively to capture the beauty of our natural environment and make portraits of the wildlife inhabitants, using both analog and digital processes. Her bestselling solo exhibition ‘innocent arctic’ was sponsored by National Geographic & Lindblad. Her work is held in collections in Australia and the United States.

Cindy Hart has committed herself to documenting life on a global scale exploring our various urban environments. Her work is a candid record which focuses on the beauty and joie de vivre of humanity as expressed within our created world.  With a passion for monochrome analogue and alternative processes, Cindy is an emerging talent.
