Two photographic essays by 2 photographers: George Voulgaropoulos and Richard Payne.
George’s essay, Children on Auburn, shows a Sydney that many people will never see. The series provides a glimpse into the life of the next generation of Australians living in Auburn, peering behind the veil of this little-known side of society.
Richard’s essay focuses on the city of Sydney and its inhabitants. He shoots the urbane environment, a summary of stone, metal and glass that covers everything in its path, leaving nature suppressed but not defeated. Once a city is erected, the people come to nest.
Australia's world-leading photography festival once again filters photography down to its finest. The great thing is that Head On's main venues at Bondi and Paddington are just a bus ride away.
