Zelko Nedic started this body of work in 2009 . He decided to photograph his subjects without giving them any instruction before or during the photo session , he was on my way to raw unstructured experience . The more preplanned it’s less room for surprise, for the idea to find itself , allowing ambivalence to seep in, and sometimes those are more important than certainty and clarity.
Zelko was trying to find out, when given a carte blanche in the intimacy of ones own room, the place where you spend most of your time unconscious….
What would you do, how would you identify yourself ?
What is it to be observed by someone in a mask ?
