Mark Bassett is an amateur photographer from Canberra who is interested in people and how they relate to their surroundings and situations. His interest in observing and photographing people complements his occupation as a medical doctor. This exhibition is a sample from a series of photographs made in Paris in September 2011 as he wandered the streets, interacting with local inhabitants and tourists. It attempts to capture the variety of street life in Paris, the exuberance, the passion, and the sadness of the less fortunate.
