The works are large photographic prints exploring the female form flying, swimming, nestling or hovering above though not apart from, suburban and rural scenes. Rochelle includes technology like power lines, rural fencing, or the clothesline. Her journey is the negotiation of this modern, changing environment.
She uses collage to challenge and find new ways of representing a sexy and dynamic female form to explore some feeling or experience she’s had. Rochelle is interested in ideas on subjectivity as a process; as well as the grotesque and fable and how they elicit a sense of wonder, humour and imagination.
Official Opening Event on Saturday 7th May 4pm. Basement drinks and nibbles and Artist talk.
