From Jacques Henri Lartigue’s fleeting glimpses of French high society to Henri Cartier-Bresson’s everyday ‘decisive moments’, this talk explores how each of these 12 influential photographs highlights a key element of Parisian life, the eras in which they were taken, and the contributions of the great photographers behind each work.
Tony Maniaty is a Paris- and Sydney-based author, photojournalist and former associate professor of creative practice at the University of Technology Sydney. He is a widely published photographer, including his 2020 photobook Our hearts are still open: Paris with love and hope.
Maniaty will be leading an International Study Tour Light visions: art photography in Paris from 6 to 13 April 2025.
With an $80,000 prize pool, it represents a global selection of the best work from emerging and established photographers.
