A Tamil Day

Whilst travelling in India last year I accepted an invitation to witness and photograph an age old religious Tamil HIndu festival where devotees call upon one of several deity’s such as Lord Murugan to offer thanks and ask for miracles to better their lives. Some worshippers offer milk whilst others will pierce their bodies. Although quite confronting at times, to witness their strength both mentally and physically was something I will not ever forget.
