Homeless is a documentation of a unique social experiment that came about by accident when a group of homeless people who on being moved on from living around the Sydney Entertainment Centre settled under the viaduct in Wentworth Park. I began to take portraits of them from January 2009. As time went on the photography became more than a set of portraits, but a portrait of what became a homeless initiated experiment in communal living. Surprisingly the authorities keeping a close eye on events allowed a small homeless community to evolve. This came to an end in September 2012, when the core group voluntarily accepted social housing.
